beam. Platform supports high-end furniture brand clients and retailers in the selection process of furniture pieces and materials. It offers instant product visualization with any material and version combination (as close to reality as possible).

beam. presents all the amazing details and exceptional material characteristics that distinguishes a furniture brand's iconic collections from standard furniture. It provides a life-like experience of how products are perceived to the digital online world.

Digitization is essential for Europe’s high-end furniture manufacturers. The presentation of their products is limited by the number of showrooms, while customers need a wide range of customization and information before making decisions.

Beam digitizes the entire shopping journey, resolves all major pain-points, creates a unique customer experience and maintains desire at the highest level through its revolutionary real-time visualization.

Beam changes the rules of the game for the entire high-end furniture industry.

Competitive Analysis

We started off by doing some comparative analysis, not only with other related apps but also with popular user-centric web products such mood-board, interior styling and 3d rendering platforms.

Next, we had several brainstorming sessions with the founders to outline our product strategy and value proposition. We wanted to achieve an easy to use product, which give you the maximum amount of furniture configuration and professional render-like quality.

Customer Journey

We mapped out the journey of a potential customer about different points of contact with the product of furniture brand. This was done via all available channels until the customer performs a desired target action: a final order. The customer journey can extend over several days or months.

  • Major target actions are aware, join, us, quote and final order

  • Touchpoints are any kind of contact points between customer and our business, from online marketing activities through to the opinion of a friend or information on brand websites.

  • Available channels such as showroom, beam application and marketing communications and retailer phone calls.

Style Guide & branding

The beam. brand is underpinned with a color palette designed to be modern but classic with distinctive elements.

Different combinations of color can dramatically change the tone and appearance of a media so it’s important to consider how they work together. To help achieve greater brand recognition our color palette was applied consistently.

Final Product

The final product ended out to be an iOS application for retailers and an embedded webplugin for retailers and manufacturers. Our target group seemed please with the grey/dark colors and the modern, clean look. We wanted to make sure to give the spotlight to furniture products in our application and not to put the focus to much on our own branding elements.
